The company tested factors like price, discount and subject line. After only 18 emails, the TaguchiNow&#8217;s methodology was able to <strong>increase </strong>Dell&#8217;s open rate <em><strong>5 times</strong></em> and sales by more than <em><strong>7 times</strong></em> in just a 4 month span. How&#8217;s that for effectiveness?</p>
<p>They found that &#8220;contrary to common marketing  knowledge,  test  results  revealed  that Financing, Price, and Discount were not influential. The most influential variables were Subject Line, Image,  Teaser,  and  Headline,  in  that  order.&#8221;</p>
